Key Features
Aluminum Wave Fins
The aluminum fins feature a wavy surface pattern that provides additional heat transfer surface area and supports airflow through the finned section. The 12 fins-per-inch configuration provides a compact heat transfer surface for forced-air applications.
Seamless Copper Tubes
The heat exchanger uses 3 rows of 3/8" seamless copper tubes. Copper provides good thermal conductivity, while the smooth tube surface helps maintain fluid flow with relatively low internal flow resistance.
Epoxy-Coated Aluminum Fins
The aluminum fins are coated with epoxy to improve surface durability and resistance to wear. The coating also helps protect the fin surface during normal operation and handling.
Steel Support Structure
A steel frame supports the heat exchanger assembly and provides structural stability during installation and operation.
Applications
The HTL12x12 Water-to-Air Heat Exchanger transfers heat from a boiler or other hot-water source into an existing forced-air system. It is suitable for residential and commercial HVAC applications where hot-water-to-air heat transfer is required.
Compatible heat sources may include:
- Indoor boilers
- Outdoor wood boilers
- Natural gas boilers
- Propane boilers
- Oil boilers
- Electric boilers
- Other hot-water heating equipment
Typical applications include:
- Residential and Commercial Heating and Cooling
- Apartment and Condominium HVAC Systems
- Forced-Air Heating
- Outdoor Wood Furnace Systems
- Hybrid Heating Systems
- Air Conditioning
- Inverter Cooling
- Dehumidification
Installation
The HTL12x12 is designed for integration into forced-air heating and cooling systems. Depending on the system configuration, the heat exchanger can be connected to the existing piping using the appropriate fittings and secured within the air-handling system.
When installing the heat exchanger, ensure that there is sufficient clearance around the unit for proper airflow, connection, inspection, and maintenance.
Important: If the air system uses an overheat sensor, install the heat exchanger far enough away from the sensor so that heat from the exchanger does not interfere with sensor readings.
For proper system performance, the heat exchanger should be sized according to the application, water temperature, airflow, and other system operating conditions.
